A Tidal Creek

Through #VisionChelseaCreek, we will be exploring opportunities for ecological restoration of the project site shoreline area. This visioning and planning process supported by designing and planning experts will allow us to really understand the site's existing conditions and assess together with our city and state partner agencies what funding structure there might be in the future and which design strategies best management practices (BMP's) could make signficant improvements to this important tidal creek and habitat area.

What would you like to learn about the project site's ecosystem? What are your observations about the existig ecological conditions of this site and what would you like to see improve? Comment below!

I also came across some horseshoe crabs, although this juvenile was dead and this large one was dead and decaying (and stinky!), what it does indicate is that there are marine species living in the tidal creek.

Walking along the abandoned railway spurs yesterday, I’m observing some vegetation regrowth, including some wildflowers.

The site represents several acres of upland habitat for birds an other creatures, plus several small salt marshes, all of which I would like to see restored and preserved.
