Exploring the Site's History

As an important coastal city in the Northeast, Boston has so much rich waterfront history. Some of that history was made in East Boston along the shoreline of the Chelsea Creek. We can explore it together! From the Battle of Noddle Island in the American Revolutionary War fought on the shores of the Chelsea Creek, through two industrial revolutions, to the rich maritime history of famous clipper shipbuilder Donald McKay or the network of railways that transported goods and people West and North, #VisionChelseaCreek offers an unprecedented opportunity to explore and highlight the area's rich cultural and historical resources.

What do you know about the project site in the map above? Maybe there are oral stories passed down to you for generations or perhaps you have a personal recollection of a particular experience spending or working in or near the Creek or maybe you've done your own research that can help us in Vision Chelsea Creek. Share it with us!
